Queen City Anime Con 2022: My Thoughts on the Charlotte Cosplay Con Experience!
I recently ventured out to Charlotte, NC for a weekend anime con. Going only after being prompted by a number of my cosplay acquaintances and friends to go, I realized I had enough to afford the weekend trip. With this being my first trip to a con by myself, I also managed to book a room at the Sheraton for myself as well. Yep, no roommates!
Much like Triad Anime Con in Winston-Salem, NC, it’s a smaller con compared to the others I’ve been to. However, that didn’t stop passionate cosplayers from attending by the hundreds if not thousands. Moreover, the game room ended up being a surprise treat I wasn’t ready for.
While Snow Phoenix — my favorite arcade provider— made it out this weekend, I wasn’t prepared for how well-organized the game room would be. Major shoutouts to the QCAC game room staff and Charlotte Gaymers Network. Not only did they prepare Switch setups, but they ran an amazing Smash tournament as well.
